This BSL course is suitable for those who have achieved Signature or IBSL Level 1 or are assessed by us as signing at an equivalent level, and will help you to develop your sign language communication skills so you can participate in longer, more varied conversations. We deliver the course over 38 weeks, and include wider knowledge of the Deaf Community to aid in learning.
The Signature syllabus includes three assessed modules:
BSL201 – BSL Receptive Skills (assessed on the theme of everyday conversation)
BSL202 – BSL Productive Skills
BSL203 – BSL Conversational Skills
There are four themes in this qualification: everyday conversation, eating and drinking, shopping and spending, and travel and holidays. You will study the first theme everyday conversation, and two from the remaining three themes (which two will be chosen by the class group that you are learning with).
