This BSL course is suitable for those who have achieved Signature or IBSL Level 2 or are assessed by us as signing at an equivalent level, and will build your knowledge and improve your signing fluency so that you can feel more confident communicating in a variety of situations. This course is ideal for those who work regularly with Deaf people, or would like to develop a career working with the Deaf community, and is also perfect for those who simply want a deeper knowledge, proficiency and confidence in BSL. We deliver the course over 38 weeks, and include wider knowledge of the Deaf Community to aid in learning.
The Signature syllabus includes three assessed modules:
3ASS1 – Formal Presentation
3ASS2 – Informal Conversation
3ASS3 – Receptive Skills
There are six themes in this qualification: Home life, Social and recreational activities, Education and training, Employment, Consumer issues and daily living, and Deaf history and culture. You will study all six topics, and exam topics will be assigned based on any of these.
